Phonics Challenge!

Towers, Tunnels and Turrets 


This term we will be learning all about different structures. It is an amazing topic when we will be learning about why castles were built and how they kept people safe. 

In the garden!


This term we will be learning all about gardens. We will be thinking about what gardens are like and  what lives and grows in the garden. I cannot wait to look at all the different minibeasts and animals that live just outside our homes and school.

Spring Term One

Land Ahoy!

Yo- ho- ho and a bottle of rum! Arrr me hearties, it’s a sailor's life for me! Its time to sail the salty sea. Navigate and investigate like Captain Cook. Learn all about life on board a pirate ship and what life was like for some of the most famous pirates.

Thank you to the parents who came to our pirate afternoon!

We did an excellent application pack to be a pirate on Captain White's ship.

We had to test which wheels and axles were the best.

Why do we need books? 

In year two we have been learning all about books in RE. We looked at the different books that we use in church and how we can use the Bible to get closer to Jesus. As part of our innovate task, the children have created a video to answer our big question.

                 Autumn Term Two 

This term we will be learning all about muck, mess and mixtures. We will be looking at which soaps make the best bubbles and which mixtures are sticky. It will be a fantastic messy topic!

This term we are learning all about our local area. We will be looking at human and physical features around Shirebrook and what life is like in our town.
