Year 6

Welcome back Year 6! I hope you had a lovely Easter break and are coming back feeling rested. I can't believe we have only got one term left together- I hope you enjoy your final term at St Joseph's!

This term will include the KS2 SATs which take place on the week beginning 13th May from 13th-16th May. Children must be in school on these dates so please plan ahead to ensure this is possible avoiding any appointments or planned absences on these days. We will be revising all the necessary work for this in the 2 weeks leading up to the SATs. You will be amazing- I have every faith in you.

We will also be working hard in all subjects including Maths, English and RE. Science, ICT and Art will be with Mrs Carlisle, German with Mrs Stanton, Music with Mrs Stanton and P4C with Mr Bennett. This will include our new topic which will be started on the week after SATs which is called 'Hola Mexico' This will look at Mexico including its geography, history and culture.

We will also be preparing for our residential to Wales, our summer play and our leavers activities- see below for a list of important dates to look out for in the upcoming term!

PE will take place on Fridays so please ensure that your PE kit is in school on these days.

Our Classroom

Have a look at our classroom for this year! We have our Topic, RE and Spelling displays ready to use and learn from. We also love to read in our new Harry Potter reading area complete with a whomping willow, a line of spiders and Hogwarts!

In our reading area, we also have our Author of the half term which is David Almond. We have enjoyed learning more about him and his books!
