Year 6

Year 6

Welcome back Year 6! I hope you had a lovely half term break and are ready for the exciting and challenging  half term ahead! We have had a great start to the year and the children have continued to settle into the roles and responsibilities that come with being a Year 6 brilliantly!

Our next topic this year is 'Frozen Kingdom' This looks at the areas of the Arctic and the Antarctic including what lives there and where these areas are in the world. This topic also includes a focus on the Titanic! We look at why it sank, what happened when it hit the iceberg and the people who survived or who were lost. Have a look at our exciting launch day in the Autumn section of our page!

We will also be working hard in all subjects including Maths, English and RE. Science, ICT and Art will be with Mrs Carlisle, German with Mrs Stanton, Music with Mrs Stanton and P4C with Mr Bennett.

PE will take place on Fridays so please ensure that your PE kit is in school on these days.

As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions! I am looking forward to spending the year with you all!

Our Classroom

Have a look at our classroom for this year! We have our Topic, RE and Spelling displays ready to use and learn from. We also love to read in our new Harry Potter reading area complete with a whomping willow, a line of spiders and Hogwarts!

In our reading area, we also have our Author of the half term which is David Almond. We have enjoyed learning more about him and his books!
