George and the Dragon
Our focus text this week is ‘George and the Dragon’ by Chris Wormell.
Please share the video below of a reading by the author himself.
This week in literacy we would like children to write about the story of ‘George and the Dragon’. They can do this using the template below or in a writing book they already have at home.
Letters and Sounds
This week's digraphs are ‘ai’ & ‘ee’
Monday – ‘ai’ spellings activity
Tuesday – ‘ee’ reading and writing activity
Wednesday – ‘ai’ and ‘ee’ sounds matching activity
Thursday – ‘ai’ and ‘ee’ read and write activity

This week in maths we are exploring 2D shapes. We would like children to go on a shape hunt around the home; keeping a tally and counting the different amount of 2D shapes they manage to spot. Talk about the different properties the shapes have and how they have similarities to everyday objects.
Please watch our school’s Word of the Week video online and respond by helping your child write a pledge of something they will give up or do extra to help someone throughout the time of lent.
This week’s topic work is to plant the bean given to you at the end of last week. Then record in the bean diary what equipment you needed and what you had to do.
Create a 2D picture in the style of Kandinsky's circles (see Maths plan). Take a photo and add it to your home/school book.
Join Joe Wicks kids workout each morning (9:00 -9:30 am) via Youtube for daily exercise.
To develop your imagination and movement this week listen to part one about dragons and knights.
