Did Dragons Exist?

Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely and restful half term holiday. This term we will be focusing on  our new Topic 'Did Dragons Exist?'

During this topic we will be looking at different reptiles and real life dragons! We will have the opportunity to see and touch some dragons on our trip to Willow Tree Farm on 5th March. We can't wait to see some dragons in real life!

We will also be looking at castles and how they have changed over time. Including exploring who lives in a castle and what the different roles these people had. We will be making our own flags and studying the flags of some well-known countries. What a busy term we have ahead of us!

In our Literacy sessions we will continue to focus on some well known texts, such as: Zog, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Dragon Princess. In our RE sessions we will be learning all about Lent and the story of Jesus. Please make sure you visit our page often to see photographs of all the fun activities we have been doing in class!

We made some beautiful Easter gardens in our RE lesson

We have so much fun in our classroom!

What a fun day we had making pancakes as part of our Shrove Tuesday celebrations. We all got to have a taste of the pancakes and talked about what we need, and the method to make pancakes. They were delicious!!

How Does That Building Stay Up?

Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely Christmas holidays and enjoyed the rest. We are ready to start another busy term in Reception class and our new topic is 'How does that building stay up?'

During this topic we will be investigating our local area, the different types of buildings we might find, the variety of jobs you might find on a building site and building some bridges of our own! We will be focussing on a number of books during this topic; The Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Homes Around the World.

We will continue to have our PE session on a Monday afternoon, so please ensure children's PE kit in always in school for this day. Make sure to check our page throughout the term to see any updated photographs of the fun activities we have taken part in!
