Home Learning

Hi Year 5,

I hope you are all safe and well. You will find all your home learning for the next few weeks on this page. This work should be completed everyday where possible but do not worry if you can't get everything done the day it is set. Remember that you can use the internet to support your learning and progress if you don't understand something.

Timetable for the week

Monday - Maths, English and RE

Tuesday - Maths, English and Topic

Wednesday - Maths, Guided Reading and Science

Thursday - Maths, English and RE

Friday - Maths, English, Topic and Spelling Test

A spelling list will be uploaded each Monday. Learn these spellings throughout the week and test yourself on Friday.

You should continue to be reading AT LEAST three times a week whilst you are working from home. When you have finished a book that you really enjoyed, you could write a review to recommend the book. What was the title of the book? Who were the characters? What happens in the story? What did you enjoy most about the book? Would you recommend the book it to others? Why?

Keep using the logins you have been given for a range of websites, which include TT Rockstars, Read Theory,, Oxford Owl, Spelling Frame and Spelling Shed. Many of these websites try to keep learning as fun as possible so log in and enjoy! I look forward to seeing how much your TT Rockstars speeds improve over the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for battles on there too!

It is important to keep yourself healthy, happy and working on a variety of skills. There are some videos and online resources to help keep your day interesting:

  • Joe Wicks (The Body Coach) is completing a daily PE session at 9am for 30 minutes a day. Just search for PE with Joe on Youtube and have a go at this anytime!
  • Draw with Rob (Art for Kids Hubs). These are Youtube clips with draw along videos where someone teaches you how to draw something different each day!
  • BBC have some live lessons to keep different topics interesting!
  • Steve Backshall (Deadly 60 presenter) is going to do Youtube videos about a variety of animal and nature topics. Keep an eye out for these!

Make sure that you try your best with all the work that is set. Please stay safe and I hope to see you all again very soon.

Mr Bennett

It has been wonderful to see what you have been doing whilst at home! Thank you so much for sending the photos in. I can't wait to see some more. Keep up the good work!

We all miss you so much and can't wait to see you all soon. All the staff at school just wanted to say a big hello and let you know we are thinking of you. Take a look at the video - A Big Hello.
