Autumn Term 1 The Enchanted Woodland

For our launch day, we took part in a woodland hunt on our school field. We collected lots of woodland objects such as: seeds, twigs, leaves and feathers. We looked at some of the features located within our school woodland area and made careful observations of the trees. We also made bark rubbings using wax crayons. We can't wait to learn more about woodland habitats.
For our innovate task, we had a letter from the Year 1 Fairy who asked us to build a house for her fairy friend Pixie-May. We had to use our knowledge of trees, plants and human and physical features to design her new home.

For our express, we spoke to some Year 2 experts about our fairy gardens. We told them all about our learning and what we had made. They were very impressed and they enjoyed telling us what they liked best and what they thought we could improve on in our gardens. The Year 2's all thought our gardens would be nice for Pixie-May.
