The topic for this half term is all about the Romans. We will look at why the Romans came to Britain and what they did for the country.  We will take a closer look at Gladiators and what their role was in the Roman army. We also look at the reasons why they left Britain and the things we have today that were influenced by the Romans.

Misty Mountain

Welcome back to the Spring Term of Year 4. This half term, our topic is Misty Mountain Sierra. In this topic, we'll discover how these giants of nature are formed, as a fold or a block, a dome or a plateau. As part of our Innovate task, we'll plan a mountain expedition from the British Mountaineering Council that is eco-friendly and safe as can be.

Our new topic in RE is 'Community'. We will be learning about the communities that we're part of, our parish community and the community that Jesus built with his apostles.

PE will take place on Wednesday and Friday so please ensure that your PE kit is in school on these days. As with last term, homework will be given out on a Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday. Guided Reading homework should be completed each Friday.

See the photographs below from our exciting Launch Day.

Our author of the term for Spring 1 is Pamela Butchart. We have a range of her books available to read and of course we have our recommendation station for all our book reviews. I can't wait to see what we all think of this fantastic author's books.
